Our network and data centers

Quality Network, Quality Bandwidth - It makes a difference!

Now with data centers in Cedar Falls, IA; Atlanta, GA; Secaucus, NJ; & Dallas, TX!

We offer only world class bandwidth, and partner with the best datacenters in the industry. While some hosting companies use dirt cheap junk bandwidth from providers that use public peering points, we only use the highest quality providers with private peering. Public peering points are notorious for bringing incredible slow downs, packet loss and even breaks in connectivity. However, private peering offers only top quality bandwidth, no slow downs, the least number of hops and backbones to get to where you are, and plenty of available overhead. We also use bridging technology, which means that almost every backbone that exists is only one hop away from our core router. This means the fastest route and most reliable path to you.

Broadwing is the first carrier to complete a nationwide, all-optical switched network. Our award-winning network spans over 18,500 route miles and unlike many of our competitors whose networks contain large portions of dark fiber (unlit), our network is lit and ready to provide you prompt, precise delivery of services. With Broadwing's all-optical switched network, provisioning times are dramatically decreased by “point-and-click” technology. Broadwing’s entire all-optical switched network is controlled from an intelligent, remote management system that enables near real-time provisioning. At the core of Broadwing’s network is our award-winning OC48 Internet protocol (IP) backbone. Our IP network is divided into eight core regions that allow us to transport signals directly between regions.

WorldCom's UUNET IP network maintains high levels of reliability with redundant and diverse paths to avoid single points of failure and provide optimal routing and traffic flow, as well as uninterruptible power supplies at every switching node. WorldCom's state-of-the-art Network Operations Centers provide pro-active network monitoring and fault resolution 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Data is collected from designated routers in key network hubs world-wide, in 5-minute intervals. Monthly latency and packet delivery statistics are derived from averaging all samples from the previous month.

Global Crossing's fully fiber-optic IP network is all about capacity — ready to meet the demands of enterprises and service providers around the world. Voice, data, and multimedia transmissions? Escalating volume? Requirements to scale quickly? No problem. Our network can handle all of today's demands and the converged broadband applications of tomorrow. Global capacity. Global scalability. Global performance.

The network is connected via Broadwing, UUNET, and Global Crossing and other quality providers.

Monthly Backups
All of our servers are backed up monthly, and customers may also purchase customized backup plans. In the event that a server's hard drive may permanently crash and the RAID system also fails, we can still restore with the latest backup. This service is provided as a courtesy only, and MediaCatch recommends that customers maintain their own backups on a frequency that matches their requirements.
